I’m deliriously happy, folks. New rigging is huge. And as part of the terms of the contest, we’ll be documenting the whole adventure of picking out ropes, doing the rigging itself, and then sailing sailing sailing on it! So stay tuned for blogs. Lots of blogs… maybe even some video…

To Tucker Bradford and the s/v Convivia crew (Victoria, Ruby, Miles)… I would not even have entered the contest but for your support and encouragement. It takes a special kind of spirit to invite someone to enter a contest they are participating in, and every time I look at my shiny new line, I will think about your example there. I’m also ridiculously grateful for your mad geek skillz in doing the stats work.
To Krista Cornish Scott, who is not at all a boating person, but who felt that I deserved a little payback for the years I’ve spent online helping other people out, and who mobilized a small army on my behalf.
To Cindy Wallach and Cidnie Carroll, who cheered and supported and cross-posted and encouraged. As I’ve mentioned before, you guys are the essence of tribe, and all I have to say about that is ISLAND!
To my children, who put up with Mama being glued to the laptop for a few days. Little riggers-in-training, thanks to their Papa they understood how huge this might be, and played with bits of rope while I shamelessly schilled for votes.
To the 172 of you who voted for us… thank you. I know that voting in contests like this is sometimes quite annoying. But look at it this way; considering the retail value of this rope alone, not considering the labor cost to have it installed properly, voting for us in this contest was the equivalent to throwing $17.50 each down on the cost of the rigging. Not bad for just one form and one click, now is it? I’d also like to specifically thank the people on this list who I don’t know, because there are a few of you. And you folks did this on the say-so of other folks, and that’s a leap. Thank you, each and every one.
